This role offers the opportunity to lead and grow a talented team of engineers building cutting-edge mobile and web applications in a fast-paced, user-focused environment. The Engineering Manager - React Native will combine hands-on coding with strategic leadership to deliver scalable, high-performance features that enhance user engagement. You will work closely with product and design teams, guide architecture decisions, and foster a culture of technical excellence. This position requires balancing people management with coding responsibilities while driving innovation and maintaining high standards across the platform. Candidates will thrive in a collaborative, creative, and results-driven setting where their contributions directly impact the product and user experience.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4–8 engineers, providing ongoing feedback and growth opportunities.
  • Stay hands-on by contributing 30–40% to the codebase while setting technical standards for quality and performance.
  • Guide architecture and design decisions for scalable, maintainable, and testable React Native applications.
  • Break down complex, real-time data challenges into manageable components and deliver effective solutions.
  • Ensure data accuracy, UI responsiveness, and code quality across all applications.
  • Collaborate with product and design teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver engaging features.
  • Own delivery timelines, sprint planning, and resource allocation to ensure smooth execution.
  • Drive hiring, onboarding, and performance management for your engineering team.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 6+ years of frontend engineering experience with expertise in React Native and TypeScript 5.0+.
  • 2+ years of experience managing or mentoring engineers and leading technical teams.
  • Strong command of React fundamentals, including functional components, hooks, context, and advanced patterns.
  • Deep knowledge of state management tools such as Redux (with middleware like Thunk/Saga) and Context API.
  • Experience with performance optimization, code splitting, lazy loading, and responsive UI design.
  • Proficiency integrating backend APIs (REST and WebSocket) into complex applications.
  • Experience with debugging tools, testing frameworks (Jest, React Testing Library), and analytic tools (DataDog, MixPanel, Google Analytics).
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Prior experience in high-growth startups, gaming, or real-time application environments is preferred.
  • Nice to have: Experience in sports betting/gaming industry, CI/CD pipelines, AWS infrastructure, and driving team-level OKRs or delivery metrics.
