Lead React Native Developer

This is a Hybrid role working from our London office, 2 days a week.

Role Overview

As a Lead React Native Developer at Waracle, you will define squad-level technical architecture and strategy. You will serve as a technical leader, ensuring quality, security, and compliance across projects while fostering a psychologically safe, collaborative environment where your team can thrive. This role requires deep expertise in React Native, strong problem-solving skills for complex technical challenges, the ability to lead high-impact projects, and effective collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and with clients.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Technical Excellence: Define squad-level architecture and take accountability for technical delivery outcomes, ensuring high standards in security (e.g., OWASP) and data protection (GDPR).

• Innovation & Growth: Use your expertise in React Native to build intelligent products, with the opportunity to influence our Go-To-Market strategy for new technical offerings.

• Leadership & Mentorship: Leading a squad/project and being accountable for delivery; and ensuring a collaborative, safe environment for specialists to succeed.

• Stakeholder Collaboration: Facilitate workshops to translate ambitious business goals into technical tasks, managing client expectations with clarity and purpose.

What you’ll bring to the role:

We are seeking a collaborative leader who combines deep technical expertise with a strategic mindset.

You should bring:

• Strong expertise in React Native, essential for this role.

• Extensive experience leading engineering teams and delivering business-critical IT transformation projects.

• Proven experience in defining technical architecture, selecting frameworks, and managing technical risk.

• Demonstrated ability to engage stakeholders and translate business objectives into actionable technical tasks.

• A strong commitment to mentoring and developing engineering talent.

• Experience in Flutter, iOS/Android, or ReactJS frontend development is not required but considered a valuable bonus.
