React Native Developer

This is a remote position.

Remote | Flexible Hours | 5–15 hrs/week, with Opportunity to Increase

We're seeking a React Native developer with a strong eye for design and frontend polish to help refine and enhance the user interface and experience of our cross-platform mobile app. The Totem Compass mobile app is an extension of our product catalog and will be seen as such by our users.

This is a UI-focused role: you'll be bringing mockups to life, crafting smooth animations, and fine-tuning layouts for a highly intuitive and visually engaging experience.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Implement clean, responsive layouts and reusable UI components in React Native
  

• Implement push notifications from app to users' device
  

• Translate Figma (or similar) mockups into pixel-perfect, functional screens
  

• Ensure cross-platform consistency (iOS & Android) and easy to use and navigate menus
  

• Execute on UI/UX decisions from leadership while also providing input and direction from your experience
  

• Generating new, engaging, and fun ways for users to interact with the app (e.g. Gamification, light social experiences)
  

• Managing app deployment process on App Store and Google Play
  

• Improve performance through thoughtful animations and transition
  

Requirements

What We’re Looking For:

• React Native experience is a must — candidates without it will not be considered
  

• Specific, demonstrable experience implementing push notifications
  

• A strong visual sense and understanding of modern mobile UI/UX best practices
  

• Capabilities and familiarity with mapping tools and modules
  

• Experience using GitHub or similar git-based repository tool
  

• Skilled with styling tools like Styled Components, Tailwind, or similar
  

• Familiar with common packages: React Navigation, Reanimated, etc.
