This is an exciting opportunity to define the Android strategy within our company, working closely with the existing mobile team to ensure seamless integration with our platform and APIs. You will have the autonomy to drive key technical decisions and implement best practices in Android development, testing, and performance optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain a robust Android development environment, including Android Studio, SDK, and dependency management.
  • Implement core Android architecture using Jetpack, best-in-class libraries, and industry-standard frameworks.
  • Ensure seamless API integration and collaboration with backend teams to optimize data handling.
  • Work closely with the existing mobile team to align app functionality with our iOS and Windows applications.
  • Drive test automation strategies to improve the quality and reliability of the Android app.
  • Develop solutions for offline functionality, ensuring optimal user experience even without network access.
  • Solve challenges related to PDF rendering and annotation, leveraging the best available libraries for performance and usability.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest Android technologies and best practices to ensure high performance, security, and compatibility.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience building Android applications from scratch and successfully deploying them on the Google Play Store.
  • Expertise in Android Studio, SDK, Jetpack, dependency management, and modern libraries.
  • Strong knowledge of Kotlin (preferred) or Java.
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs and backend integration.
  • Familiarity with native Android development to fully leverage device capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of app testing frameworks and a test-driven development (TDD) mindset.
  • Experience working with PDF rendering and annotation libraries is a plus.
  • Ability to architect applications for offline functionality and data persistence.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience repurposing or adapting mobile app designs from iOS or Windows platforms.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for mobile applications.
  • Knowledge of Google Play Store deployment and compliance requirements.

Why Join Us?

  • Lead the development of a brand-new Android application and define the company’s Android strategy.
  • Work in a highly autonomous role with the support of an experienced mobile and backend team.
  • Contribute to a product that prioritizes high performance, usability, and reliability.
  • Join a collaborative and innovative team focused on delivering exceptional user experiences.

If you're passionate about Android development and ready to take ownership of a brand-new project, we'd love to hear from you!
