Software Engineer iOS Sustainability (all genders)

As a Software Engineer - iOS in the Sustainability & Adaptive Engineering Team, you will be joining a greenfield mission to develop Zalando's competence in Sustainable and D&I fashion. You will be at the forefront of how we define, own & build the experience that fulfills Zalando’s customer promise on Sustainability and D&I. Ultimately, you will enable customers to live their social and environmental values through democratizing their fashion experience and enriching their consumer choices. You will also enable the disabled community to easily find new pieces that bring more comfort and ease, while reflecting individual style and flair. In turn, positioning the Zalando platform as their first destination for sustainable fashion.

WHERE YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEEDED

• Design, develop, test, and maintain mobile applications to ensure seamless and efficient solutions, fulfilling both technical and business needs.

• Work closely with cross-platform engineers, product managers, and UX/UI design to create great user experiences used by millions of customers.

• Working on solution planning, design and implementation by collaborating closely with stakeholders and teams that own dependencies.

• Informing architectural decisions with the Engineering manager, contributing to the priorities, evangelizing the documentation and learnings from incidents.

• Establishing trust and technical excellence not just within the Sustainability team, but collaborating and evangelizing within wider internal product and engineering teams.

• Ensuring we engineer reliable and technically compliant solutions.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

• 3+ years of professional experience as a Software Engineer using native iOS Application development with Swift.

• Experience working with React Native libraries like Redux, React Navigation, and Axios.

• Experience building cross-platform mobile apps integrating React Native with native modules when necessary.

• Experience with setting up CI/CD pipelines for mobile apps.

• Ability to work in a greenfield product area and cope with the resulting uncertainty; readiness to solve customer problems by taking unconventional approaches like contributing to the codebase and features owned by other teams.

• Intrinsic drive and passion for helping millions of our customers choose a more responsible approach to buying fashion by considering the impact on our environment and society.

• Very good communication skills and experience working in diverse environments, building customer-facing experiences.

• Knowledge about engineering practices that lead to writing well-tested quality code. Eagerness to  read code, pair with other engineers on refactoring and implementation of new features

• Experience with GraphQL is a plus.

• Experience working with UIKit is a plus.
