About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi

We’re looking for a Mobile Technical Lead to join our Digital Practice in Auckland. This is a 6 month plus contract where you’ll work as the technical lead to bring software solutions to life, designing and building modern, responsive and accessible mobile applications that deliver exceptional user experiences. 

What you will do | Ngā haepapa

  • Use your superb communication skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with designers, stakeholders and back-end developers to translate requirements into elegant mobile solutions
  • Contribute to design and architecture decisions, and advocate for UI/UX and software development best practices
  • Mentor other developers and share knowledge within the team
  • Participate in code reviews, Scrum ceremonies, and continuous improvement initiatives 
  • Stay up to date with technology trends, tools, patterns, best practices and emerging technologies 
  • The hands-on aspect: Develop responsive, accessible and performant mobile applications using Flutter and React Native.
  • Find new ways to leverage AI coding tools for efficiencies
  • Integrate front-end components with cloud-based services through RESTful APIs

What You’ll Bring | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako 

Must-Have: 

  • 8+ years commercial experience developing mobile and web applications
  • Demonstratable experience in leading teams of developers
  • Mobile development experience using React Native
  • Superb communication skills, oral and written, and ability to articulate technical subjects to non-technical stakeholders
  • Customer-facing experience, both in terms of pre-sales activities and project-led interactions
  • Experience using AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, etc.) to aid development 
  • Great interpersonal and collaboration skills 
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset 
  • Excellent time management, and able to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Right to work in NZ

Nice-to-Have: 

  • Mobile development experience using Flutter
  • Exposure to Scrum or other Agile-based frameworks and methodologies 
  • Exposure to automated testing frameworks
  • Web application API development experience, including ASP.NET APIs, Azure Functions/API Management, or similar frameworks 
  • Experience with the Microsoft development stack for Back-end development: Building JSON-based RESTful APIs in C# (.NET Core), with Azure Functions/API management and SQL Server for data storage
  • Experience with TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS, and utilising modern front-end SPA frameworks (such as Angular, React, Vue and Svelte) for application development
  • Experience with setting up and configuring CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) especially in the context of build and test automation
